Welcome to the new Sunday School Year!! This is the week that our incoming youth need to start joining us in the weekly readings. For those who were able to attend yesterday we explained how everything worked, but in case you were unable to be there we want to make sure things are clear. We are doing things a little bit differently in that we are giving the youth a hand out each week. (A copy of this handout is pasted below.) This handout lets you know what the reading is, (also what date and page numbers you can find it on in the One Year Chronological Bible) and it has questions for you to answer as you do the reading. These questions are designed to keep you engaged in the reading. We would like for the youth to bring this sheet with them to Sunday School each week to help them during the discussion time in class. You will notice that one of the passages in the reading is highlighted in bold. This is sort of like our "focal passage" for Sunday school. While we may teach from the entire reading, the youth can be sure that we will fully cover the focal passage in the teaching time.

Important Upcoming Events
We have some important dates coming up in September that we want to be sure everyone is aware of:
Youth Council- Sept 11 (This meeting is a time for the youth to plan upcoming events and is held on Sunday after the morining service. Lunch is provided and the meeting usually lasts and hour and a half.)
Spaghetti Dinner- Sept 14 (These dinners are youth fundraisers. When youth (and parents) volunteer and help the hours they work are translated into money in their youth account that can be used toward camp, mission trip, etc. We need youth to work the dinner and parents to help with clean up.)
30-hour Famine- Sept 23-24 (More info is coming after September 1st but we want you to have this date on your calendar as we will need to work toward it fast.)
